Synygy Releases New Version of SYNYGY DATA™, a Key Module in Its Suite of On-Demand Sales Performance Management Applications
Allows Non-Technical Administrators—Rather Than Expensive Consultants and Programmers—to Easily Configure Data Repository and Data Processes
Chester, Pa., January 29, 2009—Synygy, Inc., the most experienced provider of sales performance management (SPM) solutions, today announced the release of version 11.4 of SYNYGY DATA™, a key module in its industry-leading SPM software suite that includes solutions for managing sales territories and channels, sales talent, sales quotas and objectives, sales compensation, sales metrics and analytics, sales data processes, sales reports and analyses, and sales communications.
”Uniquely non-technical in nature and utilized across all of Synygy’s SPM modules, SYNYGY DATA speeds SPM implementations, reduces total cost of ownership, and enables non-technical administrators to complete tasks otherwise possible only with expensive consultants and programmers,” said Chetan Shah, Synygy chief operating officer. “At the same time, it supports unlimited flexibility, scalability, and performance in the management of complex data processes.”
The new SYNYGY DATA module is part of a series of Version 11 releases that feature a complete rewrite of Synygy’s award winning, 100% web-native, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications.
Three elements essential to a SPM solution—but completely or partially lacking in competitive offerings—are optimized in SYNYGY DATA v11.4:
Non-technical data repository configuration
A single data repository exists across all Synygy modules, which is configured using SYNYGY DATA, thus enabling non-technical administrators to:
- define data tables to be included in the data repository, which is organized as an open data model with unlimited flexibility
- specify data fields, field types, and other information for each data table
- maintain and change the data repository to incorporate new data sources or changes in data structures
- automatically sync existing data tables in the data repository to reflect field changes
- search for data fields and data tables, made possible because of the open metadata environment
- view all changes to the data repository, which are automatically tracked
Non-technical data management configuration
Data extraction, transformation, and load (or ETL) processes are fully integrated across all Synygy modules using SYNYGY DATA, enabling non-technical administrators to:
- define processes for loading and transforming data from any external source stored in any format
- maintain and change the processes for loading data into the data repository as data sources and formats change
- review process logs that list errors and are automatically generated upon loading data
- define and maintain processes for validating and cleansing data
- make manual adjustments, which are tracked by the system, to correct data problems
Non-technical data access, query, review, and adjustment features
Data access, data query, data review, and data adjustment features that exist in SYNYGY DATA enable non-technical administrators to:
- define unique views of data for different users and user groups
- specify rules for giving users and user groups access to the data views
- specify underlying data tables and data records that users and user groups may drill into
- set permissions for users and user groups to add, edit, delete, duplicate, and export data
“A system that lacks a non-technical way to configure a data repository and processes for managing data must utilize a third-party tool or a custom database application that requires technical skills to create and maintain, both of which are expensive and time consuming,” said Shah. “SYNYGY DATA is fully integrated across all of Synygy’s SPM applications and illustrates just one of the many ways that Synygy’s software is superior to other SPM offerings on the market.”
