Synygy Promotes Three Long-Time Employees to the Newly Created Position of Regional Vice President
Chester, Pa., September 18, 2008—Synygy, Inc., a recognized authority in sales performance management (SPM) and the most experienced provider of sales compensation management (SCM) solutions, today announced the appointment of three long-time employees to newly created senior executive positions.
With more years of experience implementing and managing sales compensation plans than all of its competitors combined, 17-year old Synygy named three employees—with an average of more than 10 years of Synygy experience—to the position of regional vice president (RVP) reporting directly to Synygy’s president and CEO, Mark A. Stiffler.
The RVPs manage both sales and delivery of Synygy’s award-winning suite of sales compensation and sales performance management solutions within a defined geography. Unlike companies where the sales organization is a standalone department reporting to a VP of Sales, Synygy has combined the responsibilities for both sales and delivery under the auspices of the RVP, with each RVP having responsibility for a sales force and a professional services staff that all work together in alignment with the needs of our clients.
“Our structure eliminates the problems that companies often encounter when sales representatives oversell a product and then hand off the responsibility for project completion to an operational staff that has to figure out how to make good on the promises that other people made,” said Stiffler. “Our RVPs have responsibility for both functions and thus keep the focus pinpointed on each client’s needs and expectations. The new RVPs, who previously held managing director positions, are Kenneth Bjorkelo, David Grossberg, and Amit Gupta.
- Kenneth Bjorkelo has led numerous sales compensation management projects for some of Synygy’s largest clients such as General Electric, Frito-Lay, Hoffman-La Roche and Johnson & Johnson. Bjorkelo holds a master’s degree in business administration from Cornell University and a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington.
- David Grossberg has driven many of Synygy’s industry-leading innovations—including serving as the project lead and architect for the industry’s first billion-transaction system, and managing the industry’s first build-operate-transfer deployment—and helped the company expand into the software, telecom and high tech industries with clients that include GlaxoSmithKline, Lincoln Financial Group, CIGNA, and Hewlett-Packard. Grossberg holds bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and computer science from the University of Pennsylvania.
- Amit Gupta has designed incentive plans and implemented sales compensation management solutions for many of Synygy’s largest clients in pharmaceuticals, financial services, and consumer packaged goods. His client list includes Eaton, Eli Lilly, Lincoln Financial Group, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and DuPont. Gupta has a master’s degree in management information systems from Indiana University, Pennsylvania, and a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Calcutta, India.
