Territory Management - Overview
| Territories
typically consist of a geographical area or a
set of prospects or customers. They often develop
over time based on historical precedent, internal
politics, or a need to temporarily create sales
coverage. Such non-systematic territory design
methods are also unable to easily adapt to change.
To effectively design territories and provide focus
and direction to the sales force, each step in
the closed-loop process—from strategy formulation
to analysis of results—must be aligned.
